Our Local, Diverse Commitment
Local Hiring
We are committed to building and growing a hyper-local team of all star employees. We have a three step process for publicizing any new role. We only pursue step three if steps one and two do not yield qualified candidates. (In many cases, qualified candidates are not required to have experience.)
Invite our nonprofit partners to refer candidates:
Project HOME (located 8 blocks away)
Mural Arts Restorative Justice Program (located on the third floor of our building)
Youth Sentencing and Reentry Project (located in Center City)
Invite community partners within West Poplar, Callowhill, and Chinatown to refer candidates:
West Poplar RCO
Callowhill Neighborhood Association
Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation
The Rail Park
Asian Arts Initiative
Post job in traditional job searching platforms
Local Sourcing
Where possible, we strive to support our local supply chain through our sourcing decisions. Beer ingredients are challenging to find locally in the quality and quantity that we require, though we will continue to look for opportunities to grow our local suppliers.
Diverse sourcing
Where possible, we strive to support diverse suppliers through our sourcing and partnership decisions. We partner with underrepresented chefs to manage our food program, offer free space for diverse artists to showcase and sell their work, and collaborate with diverse business owners on events inside and outside of the taproom.
Local Selling
Our earliest stage business conducted 100% of sales onsite in our taproom in Philadelphia, minimizing the distance between where the beer was brewed and where it was enjoyed to less than 100 feet.
Growing our business requires us to expand our sales footprint. As we do so, we will remain committed to serving our local community first and foremost — with at least 75% of our sales conducted with local and independent customers.
Our primary sales channels are:
In taproom sales
Farmers markets in Philadelphia
On-premise retail sales
