Ever since Triple Bottom Brewing Company was a fledgling idea, brainstormed over meals and scribbled into notebooks, it was about more than great beer. It was about community. It was about being good neighbors.
We craft great beers. Beers that are balanced, satisfying, and full of flavor. We put a lot of heart into our beers, and we are so excited to share them with you.
And we create opportunities for people across Philadelphia to craft something great too. We are a fair chance business—recruiting team members with diverse strengths and skills, and partnering with them on their journey to develop new ones.
We raise our glasses to you and to all who have played even a small part in helping us to build this joyful little brewery. We are eager to share some good beer and good cheer with you soon!
About the Founders
Our three founders have been brewing beer together since 2016, when Tess and Bill met Kyle (on the internet!) and shared their early plans for Triple Bottom. Once Kyle joined the team, we graduated from stove top home brews to the outdoor pilot system Kyle had been diligently assembling for years. We’ve spent many long days brewing new recipes in Kyle’s parents’ driveway, from sweltering July to snowy December. We are so excited to now be brewing beer for you in our very own brewery at 915 Spring Garden Street, here in Philadelphia.
Tess is the captain at the helm of Triple Bottom and the driving force behind its mission. She is motivated by community and communication, and loves that Triple Bottom is a place for all community members to come together and share ideas and experiences. Tess uses her experience working with foundations, social enterprises, and nonprofits — as well as a passion for craft beer and the power it has to bring people together — to develop the strategy she shapes for Triple Bottom
Kyle brings a lot of scientific knowledge and a little bit of magic to everything he brews. Since the age of 14, he has been honing his brewing technique — and even got his bachelors degree in brewing and distilling in Scotland. Kyle has worked at Weyerbacher and Stone, and now brings his craft to your beer here at Triple Bottom.
Bill keeps the business running — stewarding our sales, running our numbers, and ensuring we never (or at least, rarely) miss a meal. In his past jobs, Bill has mobilized communities to build playgrounds and managed the sales of big national brands. He works mostly behind the scenes, but you can count on him to be the friendliest guest bartender you’ll ever meet.
